I have had the A400 Xplor Action 12-guage for nearly 6.5 years and roughly 2500-3000 rounds through it. Say 70% typical target loads, 30% game loads from 1 1/4oz to 1 1/2oz. This year, 2026, I had significant ejection/cycling issues with game loads to a point where I could almost guarantee failure to cycle 50% of the time. Thinking it was dirty (I clean thoroughly after each outing), I dismantled and noticed A- One of the two “rods” that are welded to the bolt assembly has broken, and B- the breech bolt pin is deforming. So, I contact Beretta and a new bolt assembly is $500-600 + repair time + shipping since I’m beyond the 3yr warranty period. Beretta was out of stock of the item and projected 6-8 weeks to receive the part from Italy. Beretta has 2 authorized part dealers, both of which are out of stock for about the same price. I’ve read several posts/reviews of the welds breaking on these bolt assemblies. Seems like a significant design flaw and expensive (if you can even get the part) repair considering the bolt is half the gun’s price. I’m on the hunt for a bolt, but I believe this will be the last Beretta I buy. Good luck to anyone who can relate to this…
