I purchased one of these, brand new in box, compared it side by side to a Mossberg Maverick 88, and the Remington just felt more solid and better made. I'm also used to an 870 controls so I went with it. Took it out of the box and cleaned the barrel. I loaded it up with Hornady 3" turkey loads and fired the 1st round. It shot just fine, it just wouldn't extract the empty shell in the chamber after being fired. Tried other ammunition, same problem (spent shell jammed up in chamber after firing) had to really pull and tug on the pump to work it out, sometimes it stuck so bad I bumped the butt on the ground to free it up. Hornady makes decent ammunition, and it was cleaned/lubed before even firing, so I wanted to make sure it wasn't just the ammo it didn't like. Tried Federal, estate, and Winchester bird shot .. still jammed up! Ended up sending it back to Remington with ~30 rounds put through it, they fixed me up, all at no cost to me. Remington found it had a tight chamber and polished up the chamber and put in a new "upgraded" extractor. Got it back, all on their dime. Working perfectly fine now, pretty happy with it now, and especially with their service in fixing me up. Just wished it worked properly new out of the box.. Remington redeemed theirselves with their great customer service. Limited lifetime warranty, can't really go wrong with that! I thought it could've just needed ran and broke in but something wasn't right when it was jamming up every round. Hit or miss on these I guess, but they did indeed take care of me! Kudos Remington.
