  • Length of Pull: 11.10"-14.40"
  • Twist Rate: 1:8"
  • Capacity: 30

Features:

  • Lower receiver is fitted with Magpul® MOE® grip and MOE SL™ collapsible buttstock on the Mil-Spec buffer tube.

  • Handguard is free-floating for accuracy and the slim, 15" length provides enhanced ergonomics and support.

  • Made from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum forging, the flattop upper receiver includes a forward assist, dust cover and brass deflector, and is Type III hard coat anodized for maximum durability.

  • Bolt is machined from 9310 alloy steel and is shot peened and pressure (proof) tested to ensure strength, structural integrity and durability.

  • The Ruger® Elite 452™ AR-Trigger is a two-stage trigger that offers a smooth, crisp, 4.5 pound trigger pull. It features a full-strength hammer spring for consistent primer ignition and a lightweight hammer that enables a 30% faster lock time over standard MSR triggers.

  • Rifle-length gas system provides smoother operation and reduces felt recoil.

  • Magpul® M-LOK® accessory attachment slots along the 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 positions with additional slots on the angled faces near the muzzle.

  • Cold hammer-forged 4140 chrome-moly steel barrel with ultra-precise rifling provides exceptional accuracy, longevity and easy cleaning. The 1:8" twist rate stabilizes bullets from 35 to 77 grains, and the 5.56 NATO chamber allows the use of both 5.56 NATO and .223 Rem. Ammunition. M4 feed ramps provide improved operational reliability, and the matte black nitrided finish provides corrosion resistance.

  • Chrome-plated bolt carrier inside diameter and chrome-plated gas key inside diameter provide exceptional resistance to hot gases. The gas key is staked so that it will not loosen after extensive firing. A matte black oxide finish on the exterior of the bolt carrier provides corrosion resistance.

  • Ruger® muzzle brake is a radial port design that significantly reduces felt recoil and muzzle movement. The 1/2"-28 threaded barrel allows for standard muzzle accessories to be installed.

  • Also includes: One, 30-round Magpul® PMAG®.

Another great rifle from Ruger

Once again, Ruger knocks it out of the park on what is supposed to be a budget build rifle. If you don't want to get in over a grand on an AR, but also don't want a complete POS, then this is a great option. The MPR gets a lot of nice upgrades for the money, a trigger you'd expect to find on much higher priced weapons, and a smooth firing, reliable system...the gas system in particular works flawlessly. I put this several notches above a S&W M&P Sport II, definitely worth the small price difference. (I do have both). Again, this does not shoot like a $2500 AR but it shoots much better than most $800-$1200 AR's, without any modifications.

I have had this rifle for two years now. It is a pretty good rifle for the price. Of course it won’t be a like a LMT or a BCM. It is reliable after the break in period. For the first 200 rounds it wouldn’t cycle steel case or lower powered 223 reliably. After that I was able to shoot 120 rounds of Tula 55gr (which is just awful ammo) with a few failures to feed. Always use good ammo, if you can’t afford good ammo then save for it. The last think I didn’t like about the rifle was the finish on the bottom of the BCG, it had a rough coating on it but it’s just a cosmetic thing. Now onto the good stuff. The muzzle break on it (it’s actually a compensator but Ruger doesn’t know the difference) works very well but it’s unnecessary. The 18” barrel is really nice on it and the rifle length gas system is just beautiful. The rifle is able to do 1 MOA with American eagle 55gr which is impressive. With my handloads (55gr Nosler Varmitgeddon) they shot around a constant .6 MOA. I switched over to 77gr SMK which are definitely better and really good at stopping people ( hence why our special forces uses 77gr). I set this rifle up like a DMR and kinda used it as the same role of a MK12. The trigger is nice on it definitely better then the mil spec crap. It has a smooth pull on a very positive reset. The furniture on it is great. My overall review of this rifle is that it’s great for the money and I wouldn’t hesitate to use it for my life. I would take off the muzzle break and put in a flash hider and also change the BCG to a higher quality one. I give this rifle a 7.3/10. Keep in mind Daniel Defense and LMT are like a 8.5-9. Nothing can be a 10.

Performs like a danial defense. The trigger is great and shoots really soft. Groups excerpt too; with good ammo (hornady) holes touched at 100 yards.
