Just picked this up today at Grice . Being a previous Savage rifle person, I always gravitate back to Savage, especially with the Accu trigger, some of the most accurate, out of the box rifles I have ever fired. I cannot afford the premier rifles on the market costing $1200 plus, these Savage rifles are nothing more than tack drivers. 2 years ago , I was at deer camp 2 days prior to opening day in PA. One of our hunters brought his teen age grandson to camp for his first deer season; stopping on the way to purchase an AXIS 243 for him. After having the scope mounted and bore sighted, I was elected to try the first shot of the new rifle. I hit dead center at 50 yards with the first round. My friend's grandson then attempted his first volley to zero the rifle. Hitting and covering my dead center shot. Needless to say the rifle was hitting zero out of the box. Two people with the exact results is a strong statement, and experienced and "not -so experienced shooter firing factory rounds is no coincidence. I had out of box success with my Savage Hunter also.
